Let's talk about cake (spoiler alert: grab a fork)!

​When was the last time you did something you were scared to do?

How did you feel afterwards? Exhilarated? Relieved? Regardless of whether or not you achieved the outcome you were expecting – you did it, and THAT is worth celebrating. Every day is an opportunity to perform one small act of bravery – be it singing aloud, asking for help, pitching that idea, or even just paying someone a compliment.

 

We all have different comfort zones, so start by identifying some of the things that scare you. Is it something physical like skydiving or more psychological like saying “no”? Maybe you’re afraid of something more abstract like change or being loved. The possibilities truly are endless, but the opportunities to conquer, embrace or feel our fears are equally as infinite.

 

This season, we’re taking a page from Eleanor Roosevelt’s playbook (though after some research on “the google,” it may be more accurately attributed to Mary Schmich ), and challenging you to do one thing that scares you every day.

Write it down. After some time, you will have a physical record of your daily badass-ery. Track your progress and let yourself proudly say,

“Yeah. I did that shit.”

 

Whoever said we can't have our cake and eat it too is a f*cking liar, and yes, you can quote me on that. We can do way more than simply survive – we can live boldly. Eat the damn cake, and don’t be afraid to order extra frosting while you’re at it.
